Daewoo S-TEC engine: Suzuki, GM Daewoo, Straight-three engine, Suzuki Alto, Daewoo Tico, Daewoo Matiz, Inline-four engine, Exhaust gas recirculation, ... Kalos, Cam, Overhead camshaft, Valvetrain

S-TEC is a low-displacement engine range codeveloped by Suzuki and Daewoo Motors for use in micro- and subcompact cars., The first model was 0.8 L Straight-3 engine, based on the powerplant of the Suzuki Alto. It was used in Daewoo Tico and later the Daewoo Matiz., In 2002, the range was extended to 1.0 L and 1.2 L straight-4 engines and updated with EGR valve to reduce pollution. A new engine plant for the updated model T4 was built. The 1.0 version is used in Chevrolet Matiz and the 1.2 in the European Chevrolet Kalos., In 2004 the 0.8/1.0 engines were updated again. New intake and exhaust systems, along with low-friction aluminum cam followers with rollers were added, resulting in better economy. They are used in Chevrolet Matiz (model M200)., For 2008, a new 1.2 L version dubbed S-TEC II is introduced with the new Chevrolet Aveo hatchback; new features include chain-driven 16-valve DOHC valvetrain and variable intake geometry.

Model car

High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! A model car is a miniature representation, or scale model, of an automobile or similar powered vehicle, reproducing the proportion, shape, and details of actual production vehicles. Other miniature ground- running vehicles, such as trucks, buses, etc. (but not railroad trains or tracked military vehicles) are usually included in the general category of model cars. The line between model and toy cars is not well-defined; some toys can be scaled and detailed well enough to be considered models also. Miniature cars which are poorly proportioned or lack significant detail are usually considered to be pure toys rather than models.

Car Launch: The Human Side of Managing Change (The Learning History Library)

Car Launch: The Human Side of Managing Change is the first book in the new Oxford Series, The Learning History Library. It is edited by Art Kleiner and George Roth, both of whom originated the concept of the learning history. These extended "living" casestudies use an innovative format based on "the jointly told tale" to help narrate the story of major intra-firm transitions. The learning history succeeds in balancing traditional research, with pragmatic imperatives and powerful imagery. Car Launch:The Human Side of Managing Change explores the turmoil occurring in the automobile industry and shows how one company was able to succeed dramatically, even while facing the rigors of open opposition. Told in the words of the people who were there, with commentary by the authors and other observers, this document was first commissioned by the firm (AutoCo) to help production teams learn from each other across organizational boundaries. It also provides an "insider" look at relationships...

Honda J engine: Honda, V6 engine, Honda C engine, Transverse engine, Overhead camshaft, Multi-valve, VTEC, Variable valve timing, Variable Cylinder Management, ... engine, List of Honda engines

The J-series was Honda's second V6 engine family, introduced in 1996. It is a 60° V6 ? Honda's existing C-series was a 90° engine. The J-series was designed for transverse mounting. It has a shorter bore spacing (98 mm/3.86 in), shorter connecting rods, and a special smaller crankshaft than the C-series for compactness. All current J-series engines are SOHC 4-valve designs with VTEC variable valve timing. The J-series engine was designed in the United States by Honda engineers. It is built at Honda's Anna, Ohio engine plant. One unique feature of some J-family engine models is Honda's Variable Cylinder Management (VCM) system. The system uses the i-VTEC system to turn off one bank of cylinders under light loads, turning the V6 into a straight- 3. The latest Variable Cylinder Management system is able to turn off one bank of cylinders or one cylinder on opposing banks, allowing for three-cylinder use under light loads or four-cylinder use under medium loads.

Allison T40: Allison Engine Company, Allison T38, Allison T56, Armstrong Siddeley Double Mamba, Pratt, Continental T51, A2D Skyshark, A2J Super Savage, ... engines, R3Y Tradewind, Hiller X-18

The Allison T40 was an early turboprop engine, composed of two Allison T38 power sections driving a common gearbox. The T40 was an attempt to produce a high power turboprop engine by combining two T38 engines side-by-side with a joint gearbox to combine power and reduce shaft speed to that necessary for a propeller. This combination was used with a contra-rotating propellers system. In the late 1940s and early 1950s this engine was favored by the US Navy and was used in several aircraft, the XA2D, XA2J, P5Y, R3Y, and the several VTOL developments including the Hiller X-18, the XFV-1, and XFY-1. The USAF's XF-84H Thunderscreech also tried this engine with a single 3-bladed propeller.
